Healamonster & Tarsier (H&T) are an electronic production duo whose music is characterized by soft vocals, mid-tempo elastic breakbeats, and a variety of traditional instruments. Their
musical style combines elements of dream pop, dub, ambient, and other cinematic forms of music.

Healamonster (Burgess Tomlinson) began writing songs with Tarsier (Rona Rapadas) in New York where they recorded their 2002 debut EP, « 00:00:01 (One Second) ». CMJ described it as « a psychedelic
fantasyland created with delicate vocals, light piano, a harshly-fuzzed out drum machine and mischievous electronic sounds. »

At the end of 2005, they self-released another EP, « The heart of a blue whale is the size of a small car », which was co-produced by Mitch Osias, a New York Film and TV soundtrack composer whom
they first met at Brooklyn venue, Southpaw, while opening for The Sneaker Pimps. The six-track album is full of atmospheric arrangements, subterranean cellos, abstract synthesizers, broken guitar
fuzz, programmed percussion, and crystalline vocal harmonies. Throughout 2006, the album was in heavy rotation at KCRW with songs, « Cotton Candy » and « Vista » played by veteran DJs Nic Harcourt
(« Morning Becomes Eclectic ») and Jason Bentley (« Metropolis »). The album enjoyed commercial success on an indie level, staking its post on Amoeba Music’s Best Selling Electronic Albums List for a
continuous 15 months. Over 500 copies have been sold at indie retail giant, Amoeba Music in Hollywood, CA to date.

H&T have collaborated with different artists, including Ninja Tune/ Mush recording artist, Neotropic. Tarsier also collaborated with electronic/hip hop producer, Alias from Anticon, on two
albums (“Brookland/Oaklyn”, released May 2006 and “Plane That Draws A White Line”, released September 2006). H&T toured the U.S. extensively throughout 2006, playing 40 dates with the 4-piece
Alias & Tarsier live band for these Anticon releases.

In 2008, they settled in Los Angeles from New York and recorded tracks for their first full-length, « Cupcake Cave ». The album was produced by Jaymee Carpenter and recorded and mixed by engineer
Arnie Geher in Studio City, CA. The result is an ambient pop album baked with layers of enigmatic soundscapes and intricate melodies. A blissful marriage of melodic whimsy and emotive
introspection that transports you to a wonderland of acoustic guitars, zither, vocal harmonies, dog collars, UFO sightings, dubby beats, double rainbows, dirty rainbows and of course the sweet
serenity of cupcakes. H&T’s goal for this album was to create a peaceful and abstract soundtrack to everyday meandering. It celebrates the constant search for hidden trails and the ones that
eventually lead us to caves.

Mourah – From One Human Being to Another

https://i0.wp.com/mp3passion.net/uploads/posts/thumbs/1208757670_cover.jpg

Note :

http://www.mourah.com

http://www.myspace.com/mourah

From Myspace :

By the end of 2003, Mourah starts his musical carreer with the release of his debut album FROM ONE HUMAN BEING TO ANOTHER. It is a fine and pure piece of work that finds its centre in a raw blend
of acoustic and electronic sonorities.

Author composer arranger and performer, he brings us here an ensemble of diverse themes in their intensity and style: «It is not a homogeneous album with tracks following a logical sonority in
order to set a scene in the listener’s imagination. It is rather a kind of collection of my first (serious) musical attempts as a composer exploring different fields such as trip-hop and
drum’n’bass amongst others…Therefore there is no main connecting thread running through the tracks, here what links them is the rupture from one to another. It is not an one-hour single journey
but rather eleven journeys of five minutes each».

In sum, it reflects shared experiences first with a funk band called Anticlockwise in Geneva (1995) and later with his friend Dj Kmi (co-founder of Geneva collective Audioactivity) in the quest
of the art of djing by mainly mixing drum’n’bass and breakbeat tunes.

It would finally be the Portuguese independent label Nova Zona/ Zona Musica to give him the first chance of showing his skills. Aware of his lack of experience they bet, nevertheless, on the one
hand on his sensitivity and on the other hand on the cultural richness an early immigration to switzerland might have given him. It is in some sense, on a personal level a return to his roots, to
an unknown country after his father’s death. A page is now turned and many more are about to be written. To our concern, musical ones.

FROM ONE HUMAN BEING TO ANOTHER was nominated for best national album 2003, at the Dance-Club Music Awards, rewarding alternative and electronic music both Portuguese and international. For him
the highest point of a global acknowledgment by the media and specialized press.

Earthling – Radar

https://babylonburnradi0.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/earthlingradar.jpeg?w=300

Note :

http://www.myspace.com/earthlinguk

« Planete of the Apes » prend aux tripes, « By means of beams » envoie au ciel. « Freak, freak » mordille et « I could just die » touche au coeur.

Antenne is Kim G. Hansen and Marie-Louise Munck. Copenhagen’s Kim G. Hansen formerly recorded as half of the Danish industrial duo, Institute for the Criminally Insane.

He was also one of the founding members of Danish experimental noise-rock band Grind, who later became Amstrong – a project focused on trip-hop aesthetics but still influenced by the origins of
the band. After

Amstrong’s first album, Sprinkler, in 1999 Kim left the band to form a solo project – Antenne. The female vocalist of Amstrong, marie-louise munck, also participates at the project as vocalist on
most of the songs. She has recently completed her first solo album .

Alexandrina Hristov’ musical style too hard to define, but falls between acoustic pop, modern rock, alternative, jazz and soul, with innovations in the composition and lyrics. Alexandrina often
appears on stage with a band instrument, but she supports his voice-piano recital in the formula. Regarding his musical preferences, Tori Amos has prevailed, which shares features such as
sensitivity and versatility of voice, to play the piano virtuosity and lyrical sensitivity. Her first album is called « Om de Lut » (Man of Clay), and was released in Romania on April 9, 2009,
representing a collection of songs old and new.

Alexandrina (real name: Alexandrina Hristov), is a singer/songwriter and painter from the Republic of Moldova. Her first single, “Fata merge pe jos,” took the Romanian charts by storm in 2006.
With her original style and great vocals, Alexandrina has gathered a strong fan base, even before the release of her first album. Her musical activity includes shows in small clubs in Bucharest,
as well as prime-time TV appearances. Alexandrina writes and performs in Romanian, Russian and French. Her first album is « Om de lut » (2009).

True innovators of live electronic music have landed. Moonraker branches out from the current state of music, working with the remnants of d’n’b and house. The energy of dance music is filtered

told.

The recent upsurge of the live electronic scene has gained a rapidly growing audience, and Moonraker has been steadily moving to the crest of this wave of new music. Having been together for two

Apparently fans aren’t the only ones getting tired of waiting for Sade to release another album: her band -keyboardist Andrew Hale, bassist Paul Denman, and guitar/sax man Stuart Matthewman,
collectively redubbed Sweetback- decides to burn a little creative energy between Miss Adu’s efforts, and the result is far more satisfying than you might expect. Instead of merely being an
instrumental Sade record, « Sweetback » is an exciting foray into a world where lounge meets electronica, ending up in places a Sade record will never take you.

Of course, the boys are quite used to backing a singer, so there’s no shortage of vocals onhand. Groove Theory alum Amel Larrieux lends some sexy, wordless vocals to the groovy etherealism of
« Gaze, » and offers a self-help lyric to « You Will Rise. » Leroy Osbourne, frequent background vocalist for Sade (most notably on « Never as Good as the First Time » and « Nothing Can Come Between
Us ») makes the most of his time in the spotlight here on a stunning rendition of Bill Withers’ « Hope She’ll Be Happier, » while rapper Bahamadia lays down a smooth spoken-word vibe on « Au
Natural. » And since Sweetback played a significant part of soul master Maxwell’s debut, it’s only natural he should lend a hand on the silky « Softly Softly, » a song he co-wrote with Mathewman and
offers the best elements of both Sweetback’s and Maxwell’s music.

But luckily, Sweetback doesn’t need a mouthpiece to shine. « Sensations » is a smooth retro number with a gently percolating beat, and « Arabesque » is all down-and-dirty seduction; the muffled,
sampled beat paired with heavy guitars is sexy as hell, and « Arabic synth » (as is credited, anyway) adds a unique twist. « Walk of Ju » mesmerizes between its sultry sax and World Music overtones,
while « Come Dubbing » offers a atmospheric cross between World Music and Trance at a mellow tempo.

In fact, only the last two numbers -« Cloud People » and « Powder »- are unnecessary exercises, plodding along with minimum melody and treading dangerously close to the realm of New Age wallpaper.
But the bulk of this record is as exciting and innovative as the band’s missing singer, and Sweetback proves they have enough atmosphere and style to last them between Sade releases…and
considering her recording timeline thus far, that’s a good thing.

Portishead in Portishead (Live Studio)
